Judge's stretch out

One unforeseen consequence of reduced numbers of claims reaching Tribunal and a factor increasing employer's claims costs is that the Judges are looking for new ways to occupy their time - and so we regularly now see Hearings being stretched by 2 or 3 days.

There's a cost to this - and the employer is the one picking up the tab. In one extreme example reported to us, following a 20 minute preliminary Hearing, the judge reverted with a 246 page summary!
